Personality Assessment: Meyers-Briggs Type IndicatorI frequently use the Meyers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) in my personal, career, and business coaching and training. Although I am not yet certified to administer this assessment, I am experienced in interpreting and working with the resulting type information. Here are some ways you can be tested inexpensively and/or get more information about your type:
Aptitude testing reveals skills and abilities that you are naturally good at, ones you were born with. These aptitudes can often suggest career or job options you may not have considered. If you are in school or are a recent high school or college graduate, contact your high school guidance office or college career center to inquire about aptitude testing. Other resources for aptitude testing might include career centers, government agencies, human resources departments in large companies, outplacement companies, and other private companies. One excellent aptitude-testing program that I have experienced personally is offered through the Johnson O’Connor Research Foundation. This thorough program consists of a battery of aptitude tests administered over a two-day period, followed by a session with a counselor to go over and interpret the results. A detailed printed report is also provided. This program is costly, but if you can afford it, it is worth the money. Johnson O’Connor Research Foundation, Inc. Offices in 10 other cities: Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, DC. Did you use any of the suggested personality assessment or aptitude testing resources? Let me know what you thought of them. |
