The workbook
Designing Your Life: A Life/Work Empowerment Program evolved from
my Designing Your Life workshops. This self-guided workbook
- a combination of information and self-paced exercises - takes you through
a step-by-step process that leads you to your answer to the question,
"What do I want to do with the rest of my life?"
The process

- a clearer and deeper picture of who you are and what
you have going for you in your life, by looking at such things as your
skills, strengths, interests, aptitudes, personality type, values, beliefs,
and purpose.
- a vision of your ideal future in terms of your personal
life and of your work, career, or business life.
- a plan for the steps you will take to bridge the
gap between your current life and your ideal future life.
- a call to take action towards your goals.

habits which will support your growth and the realization of your dream.

Unlikely
Angel: Memoir of a Long Marriage
by Carole Wood Hardy
"In
the poems in Unlikely Angel, Carole shares glimpses of defining moments
in their long and complex marriage from the heat of their initial passion
through their middle years of both joy and struggle and, as they aged,
to an increasingly compassionate tenderness and companionship."
- from the Bio by Cynthia Fisk
"Her
poems go way beyond the personal. They touch the experience of everyone
who has ever been in a long-term relationship." - a Reader
"The
author's relationship with nature and the world around her is even more
profound than her relationship with her husband of 63 years! The two are
interwoven with consummate skill and beauty." - a Reader
A
Sampling of Carole's Poems
Heat Lightning
by Carole Wood Hardy
I think I hear
your whistle
remembering how it precedes you
like the pull of the sea
coming in before
a wave, how
I wait in the dark, drowning
in the musky smell of lilies.
You anchor
your boat by the pier
stride through shallow foam,
stones glistening under your bare feet.
Flying with
combers we meet
while heat lightning embraces the sky
with intermittent flares.
Beyond the
churning waves I hear
my mother's voice calling my name
from the veranda of the summer cottage
and my hair
rides loose in the wind
as I walk over scumbled stones
listening to the split voice of the foghorn.

Loss
by Carole Wood Hardy
Sometimes I
turn against the sky,
that rush of power
sly enough to shatter me.
This morning,
rain ruled the house,
spilling off the roof
the way a silken robe
slips from bare shoulders
to lie forgotten on the floor.
Morning glories
stitch their blue
along the window screen. Light
enters my room, unhurriedly,
teaching me the art of losing
without loss.

The Way
of Birds
by Carole Wood Hardy
Oh to be back
in a time
before flowering
spring tulips opening
before possession.
But I choose
the vibrant life
in spite of pain
that only love can bring,
the way a bird
circles the sky.
She falls,
and falling,
spreads her wings.
